In vivo | (S)-UFR2709 (hydrochloride) (50-100 μg/ml) administrated for 3 minutes and then kept for another 5 minutes in a holding tank, significantly reduces bottom dwelling time in a Novel Tank Test (NTT), demonstrating a dose-dependent decrease to 52.9 and 87.0 seconds for 50 and 100 μg/ml, respectively[2]. This compound also diminishes nicotine-evoked mRNA expression of the α4 nACh receptor subunit in adult zebrafish brains, with a lesser effect at both concentrations[2]. Furthermore, when given as an intraperitoneal injection at 1-10 mg/kg daily for 17 days to high-alcohol-drinking UChB rats, (S)-UFR2709 markedly decreases ethanol consumption and preference, while increasing water consumption in a dose-dependent manner, with 2.5 mg/kg being the most effective, resulting in a 56% reduction in alcohol intake. Importantly, it does not impact the rats' weight or locomotor activity[1]. |
