Pentaphylacaceae, a flowering plant family of the order Ericales, is composed of some 12 genera. Eurya Thunberg (Pentaphylacaceae) contains about 130 species worldwide, and is mainly distributed in subtropical, tropical Asia, and pacific islands. They are important nectariferous plants with certain ornamental and medicinal values.
